I LOVE MY FEELINGS is a book for all ages because at any age we are learning the world of emotions. We want to know what we are feeling and how to express those feelings or even how to hide them. In the book I describe emotions as neither good nor bad but just real feelings from your spirit which means we are human.

Trouble comes when we judge ourselves for our angry feelings and the angry feelings they provoke in us and then begin to act on those angry feelings. It is better to say we feel angry and ask directly for what we need. This takes a little practice and sometimes a lot of courage. But it is so worth it! If you need help, please write to me amber@ambersilverstar.com.

FULL MOON - FMS

 

Dear Friends,

 

I once joked I had FMS or full moon syndrome - meaning before the full moon, on the full moon and the day after my life just seemed to fall apart. During this time, I always had mood swings, an aching body, and an unfocused spirit. I know there are scientific and esoteric explanations for this but nothing seemed to help me go through my three day torment every single month.

 

 One day I confessed this dilemma to a friend well versed in the Jewish wisdom of the kabbalah.

 He explained I did not understand the cycles of nature and how to integrate the mysteries of the universe into my own life cycles.

 

I had to think about this for a long time. My friend was not one to be forthcoming in how to understand and how to integrate the new information ... that was always my journey to learn and my responsibility.

 

I eventually decided to just slow my life down around the full moon while embracing the enlightening energy. I quit planning trips or big events at FMS time. I was careful to treat my body with lots of tender loving care, plenty of rest, and good organic food and drink. I also made sure I spent one on one time with positive, supportive and loving people.

 

Did this work? It did. I now have FMJ or full moon joy.

AUTUMN IN LOS ANGELES

Summer is now slipping away and welcoming autumn is officially here.

 In Los Angeles, living so close to the ocean, I can almost experience summer's warm, sunny beauty all year long. But we do have an autumn season where the days grow shorter, the leaves in the little coastal towns turn gold, and the big harvest moon is a joy to watch. 

It is days like these when I most like to be outdoors in the evenings. I can pull on a light sweater and go for a walk or a bike ride and smell the air being a little crisper; sometimes even detect snow falling in the mountains rising above the L.A. basin. With all the glamour here from Hollywood surrounding our everyday lives, it is easy to forget the natural beauty of the city of angels. 

Wherever you live make time to enjoy the rich, sensuous experience of the harvest and the abundance of changes autumn can bring to all.
