FULL MOON - FMS
Dear Friends,
I once joked I had FMS or full moon syndrome - meaning before the full moon, on the full moon and the day after my life just seemed to fall apart. During this time, I always had mood swings, an aching body, and an unfocused spirit. I know there are scientific and esoteric explanations for this but nothing seemed to help me go through my three day torment every single month.
One day I confessed this dilemma to a friend well versed in the Jewish wisdom of the kabbalah.
He explained I did not understand the cycles of nature and how to integrate the mysteries of the universe into my own life cycles.
I had to think about this for a long time. My friend was not one to be forthcoming in how to understand and how to integrate the new information ... that was always my journey to learn and my responsibility.
I eventually decided to just slow my life down around the full moon while embracing the enlightening energy. I quit planning trips or big events at FMS time. I was careful to treat my body with lots of tender loving care, plenty of rest, and good organic food and drink. I also made sure I spent one on one time with positive, supportive and loving people.
Did this work? It did. I now have FMJ or full moon joy.

AUTUMN IN LOS ANGELES
Summer is now slipping away and welcoming autumn is officially here.
In Los Angeles, living so close to the ocean, I can almost experience summer's warm, sunny beauty all year long. But we do have an autumn season where the days grow shorter, the leaves in the little coastal towns turn gold, and the big harvest moon is a joy to watch.
It is days like these when I most like to be outdoors in the evenings. I can pull on a light sweater and go for a walk or a bike ride and smell the air being a little crisper; sometimes even detect snow falling in the mountains rising above the L.A. basin. With all the glamour here from Hollywood surrounding our everyday lives, it is easy to forget the natural beauty of the city of angels.
Wherever you live make time to enjoy the rich, sensuous experience of the harvest and the abundance of changes autumn can bring to all.

TO POT OR NOT TO POT
DEAR FRIENDS,
No one seems to be asking where is all this pot coming from?
Legal or not legal - pot, prostitution, opiates, prescription pain killers come from the same people who traffic in sex slavery, prison industries abuses, child exploitation, black market guns - the people who seek power over others for their own greed.
This is a moral question - what are we seeking and from whom and why do we continue to support those who gain from the suffering and death of others?
Unless you think I am some type of Pollyanna, I worked with law
enforcement, the criminal justice system, on the streets and in the prisons as both a professional and as an activist - people who are in control of those who are addicted, regardless of the addiction,
are cruel, vampires feeding from the confusion of lost spirits and broken hearts.

THE ART OF JOURNALING
To journal is one of the easiest yet most profound ways to recognize what you think, feel, desire and know and with this knowledge change your life. To journal is this unique act of expressing your passion, recognizing your power and giving yourself permission to be the whole and perfect person you are destined to be.
I once read even though angels have been known to inspire writers, they leave the actual writing to us. When you pick up a book with blank pages, think of yourself being connected to the heavenly forces above and the intuitive voice within and then give words to your imagination, your dreams, and your experiences.
You will quickly learn, "The art of journaling." Before long you will look back and see just how easy it is to create a picture in writing of your inner self.
There are those days when I find it difficult to know what my emotions are revealing and what my feelings are longing to express. As soon as I reach for one of my journals and start writing, I see the reflection of what is really going on inside my spirit and then I make healthy decisions as to how to proceed. This makes my choices for being proactive very important. I stay balanced and my life moves forward.
