The Wild Ride

Dear Readers,

The last few weeks have been like a wild ride through the rapids of a river raging through prehistoric canyons. Only the ride, the rapids and the river are no prehistoric experience complete with powerful white waters and colorful walls of red colored rocks. Instead, the wild ride taking place now is in the urban settings of America; the big cities filled with commerce, entertainment, soaring architecture, and resourceful inhabitants. Normally, the big city destination is one to be contemplated, sought after, celebrated and loved. Normally!

But ... in the last few weeks the wild ride through the urban streets of historical significance includes devastating hurricanes, memorials to those who died under the hands of terrorist, corrupt and greedy financial crimes, false political promises, mysterious train crashes and muddy floods making life unlivable. It is too much to comprehend. And yet, we are required to do so. We are required to breath deeply as we try to rebuild from the winds of destruction, the losses of homes, loved ones, and a sense of financial insecurity and political unrest.

How much longer can we hold on and still survive these days of challenge and changes? I say, for as long as it is needed. For I truly believe the American people in all their diversity share a collective consciousness for the will to go forward, the courage to see the truth and the strength to once more bring balance back to the center of each urban landscape; both large and small. It might be "the wild ride" yet it is our ride and we know the answer - hang on, do the very best each person can, and be ready to recover and learn when the adventure comes to it's conclusion.

Let me know what you think.

Light and love,

Players Are On The Table

After the Republican Convention last night, it looks as though all the players are on the table now. Some are looking good, some are not. All are sounding good but maybe not. In the next few weeks every word, every appearance, every gesture will be analyzed over and over again and why? Because like me, we are all looking for that truth in politics we can believe in, a philosophy of democracy we can follow, a program of change we can look forward to. Right now everything is about making the decision - who can really "make it work", who can stay and who needs to go home. I am ready to make my choices, I hope you are too. As a little inspiration, I am sharing a performance by Cher. Enjoy and get ready for the ride. P.S. I was a "community organizer" and the job required tremendous courage as I stood by the mayor and the people of the city to bring about life enhancing changes which were desperately needed. We are all on the wheel of fortune and each job we do comes from Great Spirit as taking our part in our destiny and purpose in life.

OBAMA-HILLA BETTER THAN GODZILLA: THE MONSTER TEAM

Dear Friends,

Yes, I know Hillary Clinton did not get selected as the vice presidential partner for Barack Obama. However, Senator Clinton is still the "better half" in my mind of the team needed to assure the Democrats keep their promises and get elected this Fall, 2008. I call this team the "Obama-Hilla better than Godzilla, Monster Team."

Of course, I realize Joe Biden is the one chosen to stand by Barack Obama for the presidential election. Even though last night's speech by Hillary Clinton proves this woman is still very much leading the current March to the White House.

Hillary Clinton does not give up. I find her tenacity remarkable. She really is doing it all - she stands by her man, Bill Clinton, she is a devoted mother to her beautiful and accomplished daughter, Chelsea Clinton plus she is succeeding in her career as a politician and she is loved, respected and cherished by millions. I am really impressed by how she has grown through this campaign and how many, including myself, are inspired to reach out and live their dreams.

I say to this historic figure, "You done good girl, you have monstrous talent, energy and compassion. You deserve to not only stay on the team but continue to be it's inspiration and strength." I might add, like Diana who was the people's princess, it could be Hillary is the "people's president."

All this makes it tough for some to go vote for Barack Obama! But like Senator Clinton says, "No, way, no McCain." I recommend we continue to support this remarkable woman. We need to follow her lead to be a part of the monster team to put the Democrats in the White House for new choices and new changes.

Thank you, Hillary! Thank you for reminding us what real political service is all about and the unity it takes to make great things happen for a great nation.

What do think? Please let me know, write to amber@ambersilverstar.com

John Edwards Is Shocking But Human

It was very hard for me to hear about John Edwards and his confused and shocking behavior. I remember how disappointed I felt when he left the presidential race so soon; I honestly thought he had the credentials and character to make a wonderful president.

Why do we continue to expect our leaders to be these perfect beings when we ourselves know how many times a day we are less than perfect in our choices and our decisions? John Edwards must know he has ruined any possibility of any future political aspirations. Maybe, deep down, he is like so many of us who create the drama, the trauma, the complications in life so that we can be distracted from facing the true agonizing pain within and that overwhelming sense of guilt and failure.

I am sure this whole story has many layers, players, and lessons of morality. I feel sad for Elizabeth Edwards and I wonder what journey she is on that includes so much pain and suffering. I feel sad for the child born into this much controversy. I also feel sad for the Edwards' children who must live with the choices their parents have made.

I think the only way out of all this is not be judgemental - to see the public situation as it is "shocking" but the people who are involved are still humans. They are humans who like ourselves are trying to learn about the inner land of emotional needs and the outer land of responsibilities to the society we live in. I am sure in that moment Mr. Edwards made his dramatic decision, he thought it would make him happy! What a price he is paying and what an illusion happiness can be; happiness which causes so much misery to others can never be real.

Let me know what you think.

AN ANGELIC INTERVIEW

AN ANGELIC INTERVIEW

(This blog - Light Beings - comes from an interview with Halina Kacicki. Ms. Kacicki has this amazing spiritual ability to see, talk to, and connect with the angelic realms of the Universe. I thought her story so interesting that I am sharing it now with you.)

LIGHT BEINGS
There are those who say,"Yes, I believe in angels, angels are a part of my everyday life." Others will claim,"Angels are just mythological creatures." Some people have actual encounters with angels but never thought prior to those encounters that angels existed. lastly, there are those wondering souls who look to the skies professing, "Angels are not for real."

Wherever you are on the spectrum of angelic experiences or beliefs, I would like you to know - angels are for real and they are serious business. Angels come directly from Spirit to inspire, to forewarn, to protect, to guide, to assist, to defend and to direct. In reality, angels participate in our lives in infinite and unlimited ways.

Angels are also light beings who are given to us by Divine Intelligence to be those special messengers of love, hope and understanding. In my own angelic experiences, these light beings resonate to different vibrations of color, so when attuning to color and coming from Divine Spirit, angels will appear to you when you need them. In addition to color, angels can arrive in an opalescent aura of the rainbow or present themselves in golden emanations of energy.

Some people ask, "Where do angels come from?" Angels only come from a true, loving, spiritual and Divine Source. Perhaps you call this source God. Whatever name you choose to give the Divine Presence, it emanates as love through you in the form of angels. They are your light beings: angels of guardianship, angels of light, angels of love, angels of guidance and angels of protection.

In fact, so many angels are available to us that we are told in the Bible of legions of angels - one hundred thousand times a thousand - an infinite number of angels. Angels are available everywhere, all the time, to everyone. All we have to do is ask. The loving Christ figure says, "Ask and you shall receive."

In my own life, several times in the past twenty years, I have been personally visited by angels. During one visitation, I fought for my life through a near death experience, when an angel of gold surrounded by golden lights came into my room. This golden being brought me into a tunnel of light where I met three other angels. Then I learned all the angels had names; Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel and the angel of gold, Michael the Archangel.

All four angels brought new feelings to me of a purpose plus a oneness in my life. Through their appearances, I experienced being loved and protected instead of fearful and alone. Because of their visit, I now have a point of reference that my work needs to be finished before I finally go to my ascended home. The angels also revealed to me just how wonderful that home is while at the same time they left my body filled with a beautiful sense of peace.

A short time after this near death experience, I fully recovered my health. Then I took time to review the meaning of the angelic visitation; I even started sharing angelic communications with other people. I wanted to give the messages of hope and peace I had received and am still receiving from the LIGHT BEINGS, my own guardian angels.

Today, I am an angelic counselor, especially in the areas of angelic healing. Through my work, I constantly see the importance of understanding the angel messengers, using the angelic guidance, and transforming our lives in accordance with Divine Spirit. I love sharing this incredible world of celestial wonders - our Light Beings from heaven.

THE FREEDOM ANGEL

Dear Friends,

I am featuring this design called the FREEDOM ANGEL which I recently created to celebrate the next few months of the democratic freedoms we so enjoy in the United States of America. We have some really important things to do as we review the process of electing a president, coming to terms with the economic challenges, and deciding priorities in our homes, in our cities, and in our governments. And we do have the freedom to do so ... not always true in other parts of the world.

Anyway,I suggest wherever we live, whatever we do, whoever we are, we always have the freedom to change our thoughts, to choose our emotions, and to direct our spirit. The FOURTH OF JULY in the United States is a perfect day and a perfect time to bless the people of the Universe with the desire to make all of this earth an experience of freedom and love for each person.

Happy Independence Day to the United States of America.

Love and light,
Amber Silverstar

SAGAN ON MY MIND

Today, I had the famous scientist, astronomer, Carl Sagan on my mind. I recently had a dream about him talking on the subject of the possibilities of extra terrestials. It could be that soon we will discover some evidence linking human life from our Earth to the planet Mars. I like to follow this speculation about the existence of intelligent life in any area of outer space.

I live very close to the world famous Griffith Observatory which sets high on a hill top over looking the whole Los Angeles area with views of the the vast Pacific Ocean. Every time I go there to visit, even though the observatory is filled with incredible exhibits, the planetarium, and special shows, I somehow just want to stand out on the walled verandas and contemplate what someone like Carl Sagan must have thought as he dedicated his lifetime to looking into the mysteries of the Universe.

The Carl Sagan web site is a wonderful way to see how this amazing man loved the exploration of space so much. The web site is called The Carl Sagan Portal and can be found at http://www.carlsagan.com. The images in this blog is a picture of the first stamp commemorating the Russian spacecraft Sputnik and another stamp showing a space ship of extra terrestials.

This world of space exploration is just so rich in history, promise, adventure, creativity, and scientific study. I never run out of enthusiasm in discovering new information or learning about what has already been discovered. But Carl Sagan, his work and his legacy has become an unforgetable experience in my own earth travels and maybe someday a chance to travel in a dimension beyond my current reality.

Let me know what you think.

Hillary - What Lies Ahead?

I can only imagine what must be going on in the Democratic circles of decision makers as to the future of Hillary Clinton. The way she conducted her campaign sure impressed me - it is as though we saw someone change and grow right before our eyes.

I would like to see her appointed Secretary Of State - she has more experience in this arena than most Washington politician and as former First Lady certainly has a commanding respect within the international community.

Barack Obama may need Hillary Clinton as Vice President if he wants to win the presidential election. I saw yesterday in a poll where he only leads John McCain by two points and Barack Obama did not win the big electoral states in the primary. Would Hillary, if offered, really take second place to Obama? Whatever happens, this is already a political event of enormous historical value.

Besides the Hillary question, I am also intrigued by the diversity of the younger voters and their use of the Internet as a grass roots organizer. I think the Clinton campaign failed to recognize soon enough that the Internet youth is the new power player on the block ... the invisible force which now seems to be invincible. This phenomenon is a political stronghold which is not controlled by the largely, white male bastion of Washington or the Multi-national Corporate Elite.

Maybe the United States has a democracy after all instead of a Republican Aristocracy - the people have spoken - now what will Hillary and Barack have to say back? What will the future be for the United States economically, socially, environmentally? I guess we will know soon. I am hoping for some great changes!

Celebrating National Poetry Month

My Own Reflections On
The Importance Of Poetry

Recently while working on a collection of poems, I began to realize how important poetry is in our lives even if we are among those who say: "I don't like poetry. I never read poetry. I can't write poetry. I don't understand poetry." In spite of these assertions, I see poetry coming into our lives right from the beginning and staying there, coming and going, until the very end.

At birth, we receive greetings and gifts mostly accompanied by little rhymes and poetic sayings from family and friends to celebrate our arrival. In addition, in our early years we are read to and sung to from a variety of poetry. Latter we experience poetry in children's movies and videos, coloring books, learning books, and sometimes even in games.

Then, as we enter the world of "school", poetry "gets to us" through music, street and play ground talk, games, notes from friends, comic books, exposure to Shakespeare, and even movies which use poetry to socialize and entertain. At this age we may also notice poetry on bus signs, billboards, birthday cards, in congratulations, in jokes. Just everywhere we are, especially today in the midst of pop culture, we are surrounded by a variety of rhyming rap music, lyrical commercials and streams of media which all weave poetic reflections in and out of our lives.

As we mature, there are poetic wedding vows, more songs, music, and movies. There are also the never ending speeches of politicians, talks by movie stars on talk shows and the influence of powerful executives who quote poetry as part of their desire to impress and to "win us over." At this stage in our life, we may go to plays, museums, poetry slams, operas, dances, yoga, street and art fairs, the mosque, the synagogue, and the church where with a little awareness we notice that all of these include poetic reflections, written verses, lyrical speeches and poetic music. This epic through poetry continues during our life even though as adults we may never pick up a book of poetry or write a poem or read the works of a famous poet. The poetry is always there working into our consciousness and staying in our bank of memories.

When the time comes for us to leave this world there is a very good chance that someone we love and someone who loves us will be there to read, quote, or sing in poetic verse the last words meant to honor our leaving this universe.

Poets, as artist painting in words, have been known to change the world and because of their profound poetic thoughts, have been in some cases tortured, imprisoned, rejected, banned, even killed. It is also true that the power of rhymes, songs and stories are often catalyst for political, social, and religious revolutions. Poets in all cultures are praised, admired, cherished, and honored because their words haunt our psyche and touch the very core of our being with love, anger, fear, peace, joy, rage, happiness, pain and sorrow.

I hope you will take these few words as inspiration to find the poetic reflections in your own life. Give your words merit by recording them so others can see, read and remember ... in some way we are all the poets of our own destiny.
If you would like to share your poetry with me, just send an e-mail to amber@ambersilverstar.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Love and Light,
Amber
