RAIN, RAIN, RAIN

Dear Friends,

It is so wet here. Nearly six days and nights now and still it rains. Both places we felt destined to visit for the Holidays included Laguna Beach and San Juan Capistrano ... both are now closed off with floods, mud slides, and evacuations. For now, we are putting our plans on hold. At least we are OK in a safe area. Except large trees all around us are being uprooted by a water soaked soil and then the trees are falling into power lines and cutting off power. If the power does go off ... we are well stocked with candles, food, and necessary personal care items. So I am praying for the rains to quit. I will write again tomorrow.

Lots of love and light to everyone,
Amber Silverstar

MOVIE REVIEW: LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS

Dear Friends,

If you are looking for a movie to get away from the stresses of life and take the kids to see, look for something else besides LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS. Directed by Zack Snyder with stars Abbie Cornish, Essie Davis, Joel Edgerton, this movie is about Soren, a young barn owl, who is kidnapped by other owls of St. Aggie's  and forced into being brainwashed into becoming soldiers.

I think it is us, the "public" who is being brainedwashed into believing if a movie is being advertised for the "whole family" and it is animated and 3D, then this is going to be entertainment for all children and even the child at heart.

Except for a few brief moments this movie is totally violent and dark. It would be like seeing STAR WARS with Darth Vader in your face every minute. Three quarters through this movie (thinking maybe it would get better) I walked out. If a movie rating is PG, read the reviews first and take notice.

Guard your child's own spirit and imagination and spare them from this once again Hollywood presentation where beating up, killing, striking, enslaving, betraying and using brute force is the only way to resolve the eternal struggle between good and evil.

Take your child to the park, the beach, the library, the museum, miniature golf, bike riding, boating, fishing, etc./etc and show your family you cherish their souls and spirits plus their minds and bodies. Violence is not about entertaining, it is about destruction, fear, anger, rage, pain and hopelessness.

Be creative. Help your family to develop interesting, adventurous, exciting, life giving and joyful experiences for those moments of pleasure and entertainment to restore, relax, and renew the wonderful cycles of living.

I know next time I will be more discerning.

What do you think?

URBAN HISTORY - 9/11 THE POEM

THE DAY OF NO RETURN

After acts of terror
after scenes of horror
after mounds of steel
tombs of incinerated bodies
after reflections of betrayal
misplaced energies
powers of darkened emotions
what will happen now
perhaps choices to explore
perhaps possibilities of understanding
perhaps through tears of disbelief
where foundations are not destroyed
people with heads held high
a searching for spiritual comfort
yes, time above all considerations
a time for mercy with justice
oh great spirit of divine inspiration
beloved giver of beauty and life
send beings of light and protection
to peal back veils of confusion
empower them to surround fearful minds
with wings of clarity and strength
a prayer for all to bring back
balance of mind, body, heart
eternally now a balance to all souls
answering each mournful question
with new beginnings and loving resolutions
with respect, compassion and love.

URBAN HISTORY - 9/11

Dear Friends,

On this Friday, September 11, 2010 we have a tragic date of a tragic reminder of desperate acts by desperate people to destroy lives beyond anything, anyone could have imagined.

Nine years ago I got a phone call from my husband from his workplace which at the time was located near the Los Angeles LAX airport. He called to tell me New York and THE WORLD TRADE CENTER had been attacked. He said I should turn on the television right away. LAX and the areas surrounding where he worked was closed off. No one could go out or come in - word was LAX along with DISNEYLAND and the San Pedro/Los Angeles Harbor were on the attack list.

My husband did not come home for hours ... we lived only a short distance away in the beach towns. Along the ocean in the South Bay, there is only one way in and out - the Pacific Coast Highway, when something goes wrong, you pretty much have to stay put and pray for the best.

As I waited for him to come home, I watched more attacks continue, the Twin Towers fall down,
absolute mayhem and terror. There just seemed to be no end to the images of horror on the screen. Even though the Pentagon had been exploded by more hijacked jets, very little news came from the government. The only word of any kind came from the news broadcasters. My husband and I prayed endlessly for answers only to be filled with more questions.

Like the day President Kennedy was shot, it was as if the whole world stood still and in the silence a distant desire could be heard for both revenge and peace coming from the mind and the heart.

Where were you that day, that moment, that hour when history you may want to forget made a mark forever to be remembered.

Let me know what you think?

Love and light,
Amber Silverstar

SUMMER REVIEW - AUTUMN BEGINNINGS

Welcome To Starworld 22

From the Editor:
Hi, I am Amber Silverstar, welcome to starworld22
"Living a mystical life in a mainstream world."

In this edition, we bring notice that we are now entering those moments when the crisp air tells us cycles are changing again. Changes from Autumn bring messages from the stars including the signs Virgo, Libra and Scorpio. Mercury is also in retrograde now until September 21, 2010.

Vacations are ending, schools are back in session and talks of election fill the air waves. New T.V. shows are launched and Holiday Seasons are already in the backs of our minds.
Do we want to say "good bye" to summer adventures, getaways, and parties. "No way." and yet we also know the sweet and enchanting memories we can have in Autumn.
My loves are homecoming football games, raking colorful leaves, pulling out layers of clothing for chilly days, carving pumpkins and greeting ghosts. Autumn skies begin filling with winter constellations watching over earth changes with celebrations of hopeful, rich harvest and the ground preparing for sleep and hibernation.

In this autumn mood, we offer words from Patricia Arlene with comments about the astrological sign Virgo.
We are also welcoming a new writer and her name is Toni Johnson. Tony Johnson will have one section devoted to BRIGHT HOPE where she will help us understand the emotional connections to our mental, physical, and spiritual well being. Ms. Johnson is an acclaimed author, Reiki Master, and bio-feedback consultant.

LOVE AFFIRMATIONS THE 22 DAY CHALLENGE

Continuing today, I am posting a new love affirmation.
The challenge is to say the affirmation for 22 days
and see how your life will change.
You can let me know what those changes are.

So get ready, start affirming.

I LOVE MY BODY.

Being well, healthy, energetic and happy
comes from the inner voice which says,
"I love my body."

Pain and disease is the withholding of love from ourselves
or from someone else ... or from both.
See if you can restore love to your body,
to yourself, to everyone.

Then watch the difference this makes
in living a whole and balanced life.

For just one day, say the I LOVE MY BODY affirmation as often as you like
and then send the energy of love out into the world. Watch what happens!

Let me know what you experience?

Light, love and laughter,
Amber Silverstar

THE TRAGEDY OF SUICIDE

Dear Friends,

When I woke up this morning I had this complete poem on my mind.  A recent death of a loved one happened when her husband shot her then shot himself. Because I am known as a spiritual intuitive and a "ghost whisperer" I am inclined to believe the poem came from this loved one who is still reaching out for resolution with the man who killed her and then committed suicide.

So I thought I would share this poem with you. I once learned from Dr. David Viscott, a famous celebrity psychologist, that all suicide and perhaps murder comes from the message given to the child that they have no right to exist because they are not perfect. Then they spend their lives trying to prove they are perfect. Of course when this proves impossible they begin to live an inner life of terror, darkness, and confusion. This self-defeating message is a terrible illusion which they decide can only end in death; their own and sometimes the death of others.

Here is the poem which I call

THE GUARDIAN

I tried to be your angel
to save you from walls of hell.
You said "no, no, no,"
You knew the place too well.

I tried to be your angel
To give you love each day.
You said "no" and "no" again
Telling me, "Please just go away."

I tried to be your angel
Giving you happiness evermore.
You said you hated me
And pushed me out the door.

I tried to be your angel
To share lights of a warming Sun.
You cried "no" in all your pain
Choosing a cold darkness with your hidden gun.

I tried to be your angel
Though now you are truly gone.
My only hope of reaching you
Is through my tearful song.

AMBER ANGEL MINISTRIES

Dear Friends,

I just wanted to make a little announcement to everyone that I am now an official minister as Reverend Amber Silverstar. This makes me legal so I can do house blessings, weddings, wellness visits, and address any other spiritual concerns. But mostly I can start a non-profit called Amber Angel Ministries and look for a place to begin the Destiny Bright Center For Joy.

The main reason for AMBER ANGEL MINISTRIES will be to raise money as a non-profit to distribute around the world our pocket sized gift books called LOVE AFFIRMATIONS. We also are looking forward to creating a spiritual place called Destiny Bright Center For Joy which will be all inclusive of race, creed, color, sexual orientations, belief systems and life partner commitments.

The center will be a place for celebrations, consultations, creativity, and media services. The Destiny Bright Center For Joy will continue to support and promote the Destiny Bright Lifestyle mission to spread "light, love, and joy throughout the Universe living a mystical life in a mainstream world."

Let me know what you think. amber@ambersilverstar.com

Lots more on this new development as our new adventure unfolds.

Light and Love,

THE POET PRINCE

Dear Friends,

Going to see and hear Kathleen Mc Gowan, accomplished author of THE POET PRINCE - publisher, Simon and Schuster. Tonight at Vroman's Book Store.

Really can't do a review yet because I have yet to read it, but I am looking forward to learning more.

I did go see Shrek Forever After and I really liked it. Go see it, if you have not already. It is well written, full of laughs, and the animation well done. I actually liked it a lot better than the other ones. It has an unusual twist which I thought most adults and kids could relate to. Meaning - how it feels to think you are stuck in a life you are not sure you want.

Come follow me on Twitter as angelwriternow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DESTINY BRIGHT DESIGNS

Dear Friends,
We are celebrating this month our five years of Destiny Bright Designs featuring Amber Silverstar Creations.

Go look at the store front above and see how much we have grown.

I would like to say a word about POD (print on demand). I know this form of placing creativity on products to sell has critics. Some would say this is just an ego trip and Cafepress makes most of their money on the designers themselves paying for premium stores and ordering their own designs. This may or may not be true.
I find most of the store fronts are created by some very talented artist and have the look of being quite professional. Plus many of the store fronts are connected to various popular celebrities, movies, TV shows, political, and charitable causes. Cafepress is hugely successful and it is great to be connected to this success.

While creating the store fronts at Cafepress, a few times as the administration made policy changes about the market place and pricing,  I struggled if I should stay on, keep designing and continue selling. But the truth is, I love what I do and so I keep on doing it. Now I am very pleased with the way the store fronts are looking and how Cafepress has improved the process, the products, and the design capabilities. Designs now match our books which are currently being published and available on line. We are in all the top search engines and highly visible through out the social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Lulu, and Zazzle

The achievements I am most happy with are how many jobs our store fronts create, how we have been able to connect the designs to various special charities, and how many organic products we now offer. I am hoping for another successful five years.

To celebrate our five years, I have created five new specialty stores with several new and trendy designs. Available only through direct access. You are invited to visit:

THE MEANING OF YOU - A POEM A DAY FOR APRIL BY AMBER SILVERSTAR

THE MEANING OF YOU

Today I have done
what needs to be done

Tomorrow I will do all
that I need to do

When life is nearly over
when pale moon
replaces evening Sun

I will know
as I leaf through memories
of love's tenderness

The meaning of you ...
the meaning of always and forever
the meaning of you.

AS THE STORY GOES - A POEM A DAY BY AMBER SILVERSTAR FOR APRIL THE MONTH OF POETRY

AS THE STORY GOES

As the story goes
the flowers of lavender color

all agree to honor
the beauty of their sacred reflections

  to keep secret the dreams
of the story teller

so the Stone People
could hear them talking

the standing tree people
could hear them singing

one day in the garden
a young man came walking

where he heard his lover calling
the flowers of lavender colors

so all might agree to honor
the beauty of their sacred reflections.

THEN DAY COMES - A POEM A DAY FOR APRIL THE POETRY MONTH BY AMBER SILVERSTAR

THEN DAY COMES

Making sure the lights of heaven
are always glowing in the sky
the stars wait to be seen
as darkness arrives

then once again day comes
with red blazing Sun
earth is strong, rich, moist
with fertile soil
together grow plants with trees
and many white blooms in the garden ...

in the garden
at night the celestial dance
of the moon
then at sunlight
the crimson call emerges again
the red blazing Sun shines

we watch from grassy beds of moss
knowing what glorious harmonies
we share when holding our bodies
beneath stones and crevices
of cold water streams
with wondering leaves
from fallen branches.

A ONENESS - A POEM A DAY FOR APRIL THE MONTH OF POETRY BY AMBER SILVERSTAR

A ONENESS

I am one with trees
green upon green
refreshing air
with leaves
abundant in their growing

I am one
with the Sun
measuring out warmth
for my skin
healing the colors
of my soul

I am one
with the seasons
which I seek
repeating often
with energy so fleeting
yet doing so
with deliberation

I am one
with the now
and always
that I may
join in togetherness
of each new cycle
and mysteries
of unknown worlds.

TRANSFORMATION ... A POEM A DAY FOR APRIL

TRANSFORMATION

Bless the souls of knowing
who rejoice for arrivals of eternal joy
this contemplation of realities

previously unseen
knowing and emerging with pictures
so real as to be experienced
with eternal wisdom
so tenderly are you held

time approaches
bringing significant measures
of testing yet
releasing measures
for the duality of forces

but now no more waiting
no more waiting
these are victories of completion
a time for resurrection
a time for now.

EASTER CELEBRATION THIS SUNDAY

Hello Everyone,

Happy Easter and Spring Celebration to everyone! This is so my favorite time of the year. Today it is cool, foggy, and cloudy with thunder storms on the way but the pale, yellow poppies are waiting to open up again as soon as the Sun shine returns ... here in Southern California that means only a short time away.

We plan to go to the beautiful San Juan Capistrano for the weekend to be at the Mission and do Easter Dinner at the Train Depot Restaurant. Even if it does rain, the whole area will be a delight with so many flowers and trees in bloom along with the smell of Honeysuckle and Orange blossoms.

It will also be a perfect time to do a photo shoot for a new book we are working on about Spanish architecture along the coast. We will do a little antique shopping too because we are giving the apartment a fresh new look for spring. We hope to find a chandelier for the living-room, an "Aubusson" type rug and a vanity bench for the bathroom.

If it is too stormy, we will take a drive along the coast through Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar, Monarch Bay, and Newport Beach. It is as wonderful as it sounds. Most of the sea-side cliffs will be covered with heavenly scarlet blooms of ice-plant, or glorious wildflowers, or even geraniums of pink, white and magenta. Sail boats might just be sailing, and even wind surfers with their rainbow colored sails and matching wet suits skimming along the sparkle glass sea water. Both Swallows and Monarch butterflies will also meander in and out of the coastal skies. We will indeed celebrate all this natural wonder.

So I hope you will have a fabulous celebration too ... a time to enjoy a renewal of life! Happy Easter and Spring to everyone.

What do you think? Please let me know amber@ambersilverstar.com

Love and light,
Amber

LOOKING FORWARD TO OSCAR

Movies have always been a huge part of my life. I guess it is no accident that I am living in the LA/Hollywood movie scene of the world. For the past month the TURNER CLASSIC MOVIE channel has been featuring all these fabulous movies which have won Oscars for best picture. It is like getting (excuse the pun) to eat a "box of chocolates" everyday and filling up on a perpetual flow of goodies.

Now it is time for Oscar 2010 and I am looking forward to the Academy Awards tomorrow night. My choice for best actress is Sandra Bullock in her wonderful, performance in the movie BLINDSIDE. Of course I would love to see  JULIE, JULIA win a few of the awards too. I know this is practically "UN-american" but I have yet to see AVATAR, HURT LOCKER, OR CRAZY HEART so I cannot really comment but AVATAR does seem to be a great cinema breakthrough and achievement.

As a side comment, I do not see why a producer for HURT LOCKER got barred from attending the Oscars for saying what he thought was his truth. Seems a violation of free speech to me. This action coming from the movie industry is hard to understand when the movie makers use their own freedoms to create whatever they please regardless of how much violence in words and actions are used to get their own points across.

Anyway, taking the good with the bad, I am still looking forward to what I am sure will be an amazing night. It is suppose to rain as it is right now. Regardless the stars will shine and I will be here watching all the glitter and glamour of "Oscar and friends."

Haiti: A Place Of Pain and Prayers

Dear Friends,

I come from the land of Earthquakes ... California. And as I watch the images on television and the Internet, I keep thinking "This could easily happen in California."

Experts talk about preparing for an earthquake but how do you really prepare - The quakes come in seconds and go in seconds? - if you do survive - how do you use cell phones that do not work? - how do you breath air thick with fumes and fire and dust? - how do you use your preparation kit if it is buried in rubble and so are you? - how do you cover for safety if you are on a crowded freeway and it collapses? - how do you get help if the first responders are dead and the hospitals are gone?

I think, if we have a major earthquake, just like Haiti, we will be in a
place of pain and prayers, waiting for someone to come and rescue us while we try to survive in a hell of confusion, terror, and desperation.

Just a few months ago, only a mile from where I live, I watched an entire mountain go up in fire, people died, homes were destroyed, once beautiful lands were scorched and scarred, the air was filled with toxic smoke, and yet the real help that people needed did not come when they needed it - just like Katrina - and now just like Haiti?

Why? My only answer is we are all in our humanity imperfect, fearful, greedy, forgetful, mistaken, misdirected, angry. So here we go again an unbelievable disaster - the earthquake - very close to home and yet far away.

In the days to come there will be many opportunities to help with money, supplies, food, prayers and hope for a people who wait to be rescued. Some day it may be you, it may be us, for today it is not. So I plan to give to The Salvation Army, The Red Cross, The United Nations. Where and when will you give?

I pray that each and every person in Haiti today receives the help they need in this very moment and in the moments to come.

Light and Love,
Amber Silverstar
