URBAN HISTORY - 9/11 THE POEM

THE DAY OF NO RETURN

After acts of terror
after scenes of horror
after mounds of steel
tombs of incinerated bodies
after reflections of betrayal
misplaced energies
powers of darkened emotions
what will happen now
perhaps choices to explore
perhaps possibilities of understanding
perhaps through tears of disbelief
where foundations are not destroyed
people with heads held high
a searching for spiritual comfort
yes, time above all considerations
a time for mercy with justice
oh great spirit of divine inspiration
beloved giver of beauty and life
send beings of light and protection
to peal back veils of confusion
empower them to surround fearful minds
with wings of clarity and strength
a prayer for all to bring back
balance of mind, body, heart
eternally now a balance to all souls
answering each mournful question
with new beginnings and loving resolutions
with respect, compassion and love.

URBAN HISTORY - 9/11

Dear Friends,

On this Friday, September 11, 2010 we have a tragic date of a tragic reminder of desperate acts by desperate people to destroy lives beyond anything, anyone could have imagined.

Nine years ago I got a phone call from my husband from his workplace which at the time was located near the Los Angeles LAX airport. He called to tell me New York and THE WORLD TRADE CENTER had been attacked. He said I should turn on the television right away. LAX and the areas surrounding where he worked was closed off. No one could go out or come in - word was LAX along with DISNEYLAND and the San Pedro/Los Angeles Harbor were on the attack list.

My husband did not come home for hours ... we lived only a short distance away in the beach towns. Along the ocean in the South Bay, there is only one way in and out - the Pacific Coast Highway, when something goes wrong, you pretty much have to stay put and pray for the best.

As I waited for him to come home, I watched more attacks continue, the Twin Towers fall down,
absolute mayhem and terror. There just seemed to be no end to the images of horror on the screen. Even though the Pentagon had been exploded by more hijacked jets, very little news came from the government. The only word of any kind came from the news broadcasters. My husband and I prayed endlessly for answers only to be filled with more questions.

Like the day President Kennedy was shot, it was as if the whole world stood still and in the silence a distant desire could be heard for both revenge and peace coming from the mind and the heart.

Where were you that day, that moment, that hour when history you may want to forget made a mark forever to be remembered.

Let me know what you think?

Love and light,

SUMMER REVIEW - AUTUMN BEGINNINGS

Welcome To Starworld 22

From the Editor:
Hi, I am Amber Silverstar, welcome to starworld22
"Living a mystical life in a mainstream world."

In this edition, we bring notice that we are now entering those moments when the crisp air tells us cycles are changing again. Changes from Autumn bring messages from the stars including the signs Virgo, Libra and Scorpio. Mercury is also in retrograde now until September 21, 2010.

Vacations are ending, schools are back in session and talks of election fill the air waves. New T.V. shows are launched and Holiday Seasons are already in the backs of our minds.
Do we want to say "good bye" to summer adventures, getaways, and parties. "No way." and yet we also know the sweet and enchanting memories we can have in Autumn.
My loves are homecoming football games, raking colorful leaves, pulling out layers of clothing for chilly days, carving pumpkins and greeting ghosts. Autumn skies begin filling with winter constellations watching over earth changes with celebrations of hopeful, rich harvest and the ground preparing for sleep and hibernation.

In this autumn mood, we offer words from Patricia Arlene with comments about the astrological sign Virgo.
We are also welcoming a new writer and her name is Toni Johnson. Tony Johnson will have one section devoted to BRIGHT HOPE where she will help us understand the emotional connections to our mental, physical, and spiritual well being. Ms. Johnson is an acclaimed author, Reiki Master, and bio-feedback consultant.
