EASTER CELEBRATION THIS SUNDAY

Hello Everyone,

Happy Easter and Spring Celebration to everyone! This is so my favorite time of the year. Today it is cool, foggy, and cloudy with thunder storms on the way but the pale, yellow poppies are waiting to open up again as soon as the Sun shine returns ... here in Southern California that means only a short time away.

We plan to go to the beautiful San Juan Capistrano for the weekend to be at the Mission and do Easter Dinner at the Train Depot Restaurant. Even if it does rain, the whole area will be a delight with so many flowers and trees in bloom along with the smell of Honeysuckle and Orange blossoms.

It will also be a perfect time to do a photo shoot for a new book we are working on about Spanish architecture along the coast. We will do a little antique shopping too because we are giving the apartment a fresh new look for spring. We hope to find a chandelier for the living-room, an "Aubusson" type rug and a vanity bench for the bathroom.

If it is too stormy, we will take a drive along the coast through Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar, Monarch Bay, and Newport Beach. It is as wonderful as it sounds. Most of the sea-side cliffs will be covered with heavenly scarlet blooms of ice-plant, or glorious wildflowers, or even geraniums of pink, white and magenta. Sail boats might just be sailing, and even wind surfers with their rainbow colored sails and matching wet suits skimming along the sparkle glass sea water. Both Swallows and Monarch butterflies will also meander in and out of the coastal skies. We will indeed celebrate all this natural wonder.

So I hope you will have a fabulous celebration too ... a time to enjoy a renewal of life! Happy Easter and Spring to everyone.

LOOKING FORWARD TO OSCAR

Movies have always been a huge part of my life. I guess it is no accident that I am living in the LA/Hollywood movie scene of the world. For the past month the TURNER CLASSIC MOVIE channel has been featuring all these fabulous movies which have won Oscars for best picture. It is like getting (excuse the pun) to eat a "box of chocolates" everyday and filling up on a perpetual flow of goodies.

Now it is time for Oscar 2010 and I am looking forward to the Academy Awards tomorrow night. My choice for best actress is Sandra Bullock in her wonderful, performance in the movie BLINDSIDE. Of course I would love to see  JULIE, JULIA win a few of the awards too. I know this is practically "UN-american" but I have yet to see AVATAR, HURT LOCKER, OR CRAZY HEART so I cannot really comment but AVATAR does seem to be a great cinema breakthrough and achievement.

As a side comment, I do not see why a producer for HURT LOCKER got barred from attending the Oscars for saying what he thought was his truth. Seems a violation of free speech to me. This action coming from the movie industry is hard to understand when the movie makers use their own freedoms to create whatever they please regardless of how much violence in words and actions are used to get their own points across.

Anyway, taking the good with the bad, I am still looking forward to what I am sure will be an amazing night. It is suppose to rain as it is right now. Regardless the stars will shine and I will be here watching all the glitter and glamour of "Oscar and friends."
